The Assuta Medical Sandbox – Big Data and AI at Assuta Hospital

Synopsis: Assuta Samson University Hospital is the newest hospital in Israel. Opened 7 years ago, paperless, digitally oriented public hospital, located 40 km south of Tel Aviv in the port city of Ashdod. Recently we launched The Assuta Medical Sandbox which provides a research infrastructure for technologies to validate and prove their concepts in safe and anonymized virtual research rooms. We focused on remote monitoring and “hospital at home” technologies to extend our medical capabilities to patients in their natural environment. We want to collaborate with startups and medical organizations in Sweden as design partners and expose our unique data lake to researchers worldwide.

Data-Driven Solutions for Integrated Care

However, they are seldom integrated into health and social care processes to their full potential. Additionally, data-driven solutions are rarely utilized to enhance interoperability between health and social care providers.

Synopsis: We develop (AI)-based solutions for cancer and infectious disease diagnostics and have run a series of clinical studies (cervical cancer screening and helminth infections) in a global context at the primary health care level. The overall goal is to promote the implementation of innovative solutions to improve the translation from basic medical research to the doctor and patient at the clinic.

Supporting future care paths by enabling high-quality imaging and biomarkers

Synopsis: Prevention and precision-based care paths require cost-effective and reliable diagnostics, available to staff working early in the patient's journey. We innovate solutions based on ultrasound devices, with focus on reliability and availability. From this perspective, the device has to produce accurate and consistent measurements, while being easy to use. We work with global device manufactures and search for partners in an echo-system to build technology around "image and data understanding". Using ML methodology, how can we encode the contents of images and data in a semantically meaningful way and use this to drive development of high quality and easy to acquire images and biomarkers.

Wound Analytics Engine for Fueled Wound Healing

The application SeeWound builds on >30 years of research at Linköping University and is currently used by >100 care organizations across the Nordics to improve treatment of hard to heal wounds, an area of care estimated to account for 2-3% of the overall healthcare budget for all developed countries. We are actively looking for research partners, tech partners and distribution partners in Nordics and beyond.

AI Empowered Precision Oncology
Prof. Shai Rosenberg, MD-PhD. Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder - GenoCure.AI. Hadassah -  Hebrew University Medical Center

Synopsis: Precision oncology improved cancer treatment and is considered state-of-the-art. However, only minority of patients benefit from it. GenoCure.AI developed multiple tumor type specific AI algorithms for tumoral genomic information (DNA and RNA) - to predict response to treatments and to tailor AI informed effective therpeutics. The tehcnology is also applicable for drug development.
